Hi there 👋
This newsletter has been dormant for a while and sice I have a few new project and new life situation, just wanted to quickly let you know. Also, this is my third attempt to revive this newsletter in the past three years1 (fingers crossed).
TL;DR
After 10 years I’m changing my main job
I started a new English (biweekly) podcast on AI called mAIndset
I also started a new Slovak (weekly) technology podcast called Link
On leaving SME.sk (where I worked for 10 years)
A few weeks ago I have posted about this on my socials, unsuprisingly, the biggest reach was on LinkedIn (here is the original post).
It’s a rather long post, and in Slovak, so I asked a friendly chatbot to sum it up for you:
Dávid Tvrdoň announced in his LinkedIn post that he is leaving SME.sk (a Slovak news outlet) after 10 years. Reflecting on his career, he shared his journey at SME, which included working on social media, news writing, data journalism, product management, podcasting (starting in 2017), and email newsletter strategies. He expressed gratitude for the experiences and growth he gained during this time.
In the FAQ section, he revealed:
He hasn’t decided on his next role yet but is open to opportunities starting in February.
He plans to continue podcasting and is working on new projects.
The departure is simply due to a professional shift, as he and SME could not agree on continuing their collaboration.
Yep, that’s pretty nicely put. Also, I will not be part of the weekly tech podcast Klik, which I have been co-creating in the past 7 years.
With that in mind, I have two announcements to make.
mAIndset, a new English podcast on AI
mAIndset is a tech podcast that is shaping how you know and think about AI. I’m co-hosting it with a friend - Filip Vitek, who is an AI executive.
We both wanted a practical AI podcast, and since we couldn't find one, we created our own.
Listen or watch on YouTube – we'd love to hear your feedback. I love talking to Filip about AI; I always come away with a deeper understanding of the latest developments.
Link, a new Slovak (weekly) technology podcast
For the past seven years, I've dedicated part of my week to creating a weekly tech news and commentary show.
I couldn't imagine stopping, so I've started a new podcast called Link. (No pun intended, though listeners of my previous podcast, Klik, have been asking about the name.)
The first episode is out! I hope you'll give it a listen and share your feedback. For now, it's just me, but I'm hoping to introduce a co-host soon.
I focused most of my energy on creating great content for this first episode (and I'm already thinking about ways to improve the format going forward).
I think it's definitely worth a listen (especially if you speak Slovak). I'm really eager to hear your feedback, so please don't hesitate to share your thoughts!
P.S. If you like what you hear, a public recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
Out of context
The New York Times has put together a list of Super Bowl ads, although I don’t agree with some of the author’s evaluation of them, it’s a good list. Here is a gift link.
This was a good episode of the Ezra Klein podcast where he discussed with tech journalist Kara Swisher the radicalization of Elon Musk. Watch here.
There is new AI tool that lets you talk to your 80-year-old self. Kind of amazing.
Also, I was planning to move this newsletter away from Substack, so that should happen in this month as well.
